The Royal Exchange was refurbished to provide a very high quality retail space, which was divided and let out to luxury brands. Our client, Tods is an Italian shoe retailer. We initially undertook a building survey of the Royal Exchange to advise our client of the likely maintenance costs as a tenant. Once the lease was signed, we worked as Cost Consultants with the Italian architects to provide a high quality fit-out.
We also undertook the role of Planning Supervisor.
A large part of the work was done by an Italian shop-fitter. We had to monitor costs closely to ensure that not only the UK contractor’s costs were controlled, but also the Italian shop-fitter. As Planning Supervisors, we ensured that the Principal Contractor liased with the Italian contractor and put in place the necessary procedures to comply with CDM legislation.
The project ended on time and on budget. Tods were delighted with the outcome and have since appointed us as Cost Consultants and Planning Supervisors for their new flagship store in Bond Street.
